“You can’t empower women without listening to their stories.”
- Gloria Steinem
Melanie Sheppard is an Australian writer, a story teller and a woman who believes in the synergies created through the simple of act of sharing a story.
After spending the majority of her life in the corporate sector, she awoke one morning with the realisation that the rumbling inside of her was a call for change. What followed was a journey of transformation and self discovery as she broke down all her old negative patterns and started to live and operate from her authentic truth.
She retuned home to Australia from Europe where she was living, returned to university to obtain her Bachelors Degree in Professional Writing and Publishing and embarked on a new path.
Writing her stories and exposing herself in her authentic form creates a space allowing others to do the same and it is from this place that true connection is formed.
Her writing evokes conversation, thought and reflection as people reach a time in their life when they commence the ultimate journey - inwards.
Melanie is a mother to two daughters, a proud feminist and a passionate activist and advocate for women’s rights and social justice. She is undertaking her Masters Degree at Melbourne University majoring in Gender Studies and Creative Writing.
When not reading, writing or researching, she is a keen observer of the world and the interactions of those around her.
